The Wall Street Journal has a story on what is ahead for 2011 and beyond (story dated 1/3/11). The new law sets up a battle on tax issues during the 2012 presidential election season as it extended the 01 & 03 law just 2 years.
Although the new law brings some certainty to taxpayers, at least for two years, the lack of permanence in the new law makes long-term planning still very challenging. We will have to see how thing develop as the debate over tax issues heats up again in 2012.
