US Senate passes 1099 repeal

The US Senate has finally acted on the repeal of an onerous provision in the Health Care law:  the requirement for 1099s on most business transactions. The House repealed the provision earlier this year. Now it is on to President Obama's desk for a veto.  It is unclear at this time whether the president will veto it.

This provision, if it remains in the law, will impose tremendous compliance costs on businesses.  The Wall Street Journal has the story here.
