Economic Stimulus Bill

The Economic Stimulus Bill passed earlier this year is worth taking a look at and reviewing the impact it has had. We are now several months since its passing and it appears the impact has been negligible. This massive bill ($787 Billion) proves once again that government spending can not get an economy out of a recession. This was tried in the 1930s and the 1970s.

Some of the bill's provisions can be found here. The Wall Street Jounal shows that the economy continues to contract despite government attempts to revive it with 'stimulus'. We shall see in the months ahead how detrimental the current government policy will be on the economy. It is clear that history is not on the side of those who promote such a policy.
