Minnesota's general sales tax rate is set to increase on 7/1/09. The general rate will rise to 6.875% from 6.5%. This will be on top of other rates assessed by localities or for specific purposes (i.e. stadium tax in Hennepin County and the transit tax assessed on the 5 county area).
